A photo can capture a moment, but a film captures so much more — the sound of your child’s laughter, the way they run to you for a cuddle, or the tiny details that make your family uniquely yours.

I create 2–3 minute family films that you can watch over and over again. These films might capture highlights like a first haircut or a birthday, but also the beauty in everyday life — lunch at the table, gardening together, tidying up, or a walk on the beach building sandcastles.

Not Just for Kids

Family films aren’t just for kids. They’re also a way to capture grandparents or older family members — watching granny bake her beloved cake, or grandpa on his daily newspaper walk. These small, ordinary moments become extraordinary when captured on film.

For something even more special, I create Life Story Films — 10–15 minute films that tell a part of someone’s life story, usually focused on one theme. These films are perfect as a family legacy, a communal gift for grandparents, or a cherished way to pass memories down through generations.

What to Expect

1. You Reach Out

Send me a message and we’ll set up a no-pressure discovery call to make sure we’re the right fit. If you decide to go ahead, you’ll receive a short questionnaire so I can get to know your family a little better. We’ll then have another gentle call to shape a session that truly reflects your routines, relationships, and the memories you want to hold onto. Nothing generic, instead everything tailored to your story.

2. We Spend Time Together

When I arrive, I put everyone at ease straight away that this will be enjoyable. I’m simply there to witness how wonderful your family already is and create the photographs that show it. Your session will feel relaxed and unhurried, with you living your day just as you normally would.

3. You See Your Story

Within four weeks, your gallery will be ready and presented in a beautiful slideshow set to music. Make a moment of it and sit together, press play, and relive your day. When you’ve taken it all in, you can choose to purchase the collection that feels right for you.

4. You Make It Yours

You’ll never get the same feeling looking at your photos on a screen as you will seeing them on your wall or flipping through the pages of an album. With your print credit, you choose how your images live in your home, whether thats on your walls, in albums, or as gifts for the people you love.

Film is something uniquely precious.

Below are the two types of family films you can choose from.

Highlight Reel Film

A film that captures the big and little moments. From first steps, weaning, a birthday, planting bulbs in the garden, Sunday pancakes, or a slow wander through nature together.

Life Story Film

A very special kind of session. A story-led film that captures a meaningful family story or chapter of a life.
This also makes a beautiful gift for a parent or grandparent and becomes something your family can cherish for generations.

12-hour film shoot, spread over 2 consecutive days

Family questionnaire

1-hour pre-shoot call (Skype or phone) to plan and create a simple storyboard

1 revision included for the final video

Royalty-free licensed music

A thoughtfully edited 10–15 minute film

Booking a photographer or filmmaker can bring up questions. Here are a few I’m often asked.

  • What does working with you look like? What’s the process?

    Your family session is all about capturing life as it really is. The little everyday moments, emotions, and connections that make your family unique. Here’s how it works:

    1. Questionnaire – We start with a short questionnaire so I can understand what matters to you and how your family works.
    2. Pre-session video call – A chance to connect, answer questions, and get familiar before the big day.
    3. Photo session – 3–10 hours depending on your session type, capturing real-life moments like breakfast, playtime, baking, park walks, or bedtime stories.
    4. Editing & slideshow – Your photos are edited with a timeless look, and you’ll receive a slideshow of your images. You then choose the collection that’s right for you.
    5. Collections – Each collection includes digital files plus print credit so your photos can live on walls, in albums, or as keepsakes.

  • How long will it take before we see our photos or film?

    For family photography, your full gallery will be ready within 3 weeks. Family films take 4–6 weeks, depending on the length of your film and the story we’re telling together.

  • What is print credit, and what products can it get us?

    Print credit acts like a voucher included with your family photo package. It’s money you can spend in your online gallery store towards beautiful physical products — from loose prints, framed wall art, to albums. I offer this because I believe your photos deserve more than a hard drive. They deserve to be part of your everyday life, to hang on a wall, sit on a shelf, or even be gifted to loved ones.

  • What if I need to cancel, or someone is unwell, or the weather is bad?

    You can always reschedule your session up to two times at no extra cost, giving you flexibility if life gets in the way. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can free up your date for another family. However, once I’m already at the agreed location or on my way there, cancellation is no longer possible.

    That said, with documentary photography, you don’t have to let illness or bad weather stop you. There’s still so much beauty to capture: the care you show for your child, the ways you support each other, and the little gestures or family rituals that reveal your bond. Jumping in puddles, running for cover, cosying up indoors. These honest, everyday moments can create heartfelt and timeless images.     However, if you’d prefer everyone to be healthy and the weather to be good for the session, then it’s absolutely fine to postpone. Your family’s comfort comes first.

  • What should we actually do during our family session?

    Anything is possible! Your session is completely tailored to your family and what feels meaningful to you. That’s also where the questionnaire comes in: it helps us plan activities, moments, and experiences that truly reflect your family’s personality and life.

    I usually capture real, everyday moments from pancake breakfasts, forest walks with your teen, dancing to Disney tunes with your toddler, tickles and full-belly laughs, planting flowers in the garden, bath-time splashes, bedtime snuggles… anything that makes your family life unique.

    Can’t decide what to focus on? A full 10-hour  “Day in the Life” session is a wonderful way to document an entire day. I also capture special occasions, like birthdays, naming ceremonies, religious milestones, and festivities — whatever feels important to you and your family.
