Why Storytelling Photos Matter for Your Brand
Images are more than decoration they’re a powerful tool to:
Honest, storytelling images and films for makers, creators, and small businesses

You want brand photos and films that are creative, thoughtful, and true to you. You want your audience to get the behind-the-scenes moments, your processes, and the personality that makes you and your work unique. When your audience sees the real you, they’ll trust you, connect with you, and want to work with you.

You want images that feel alive, no cookie cutter brand images, no stiff poses, and no pretending. Instead you’ll get honest photographs and films full of personality that show the passion and creativity in your work. Whether you’re baking, painting, designing, teaching, healing or creating, your brand visuals should reflect what makes it stand out!
Images are more than decoration they’re a powerful tool to:

This is truly at the heart of everything I do. Your session isn’t just about creating “nice images”. It’s about telling the story of who you are, how you work, and what makes your brand feel unmistakably you.
A lot of the work actually happens long before I pick up the camera. Through your questionnaire and our planning call, we explore your values, your personality, the stories you want to tell, and the way you want your audience to feel. By the time your session day arrives, we already share a clear vision and a set of ideas we’re both excited about.
During the shoot itself, the atmosphere is collaborative, thoughtful, and genuinely fun. We’ll experiment together, try different ideas, and play with moments that feel natural to you. I will aim to capture real moments of laughter, reflecting, moving through your space, or doing the things you love: journaling, creating, designing, teaching, running your business… anything that helps us show the “behind the scenes” side of your personality and your work.
All of this helps us create a collection of photographs or a film that truly tells your story. Showing not just what you look like, but who you are and what you’re about.

Send a message and we’ll set up a no-pressure discovery call to see if we’re a good fit. You’ll receive a questionnaire to help me understand your brand, your work, and the stories you want to tell. We’ll then have another call to personalise your session. Nothing generic, everything tailored to you.

On the day of the session, we’ll spend a few hours creating photos and films that show the real, tactile, and personal side of your work. You’ll be guided gently, and we’ll collaborate, play, experiment, and enjoy the process.

Within four weeks, your gallery will be ready. Take your time to enjoy seeing your brand come alive through images and films that tell your story.

Your content isn’t just for screens. Your branding can live anywhere from your website, social media, in printed portfolios, or even in your studio space. This is your story, fully tangible and ready to show the world.

Booking a photographer or filmmaker can bring up questions. Here are a few I’m often asked.
Your session can happen anywhere that feels right for you and your brand — at your home, office, studio, a café, outdoors, or even a mix of locations. The right backdrop helps tell your story, reflects your personality, and sets the mood for your images.
Choosing the perfect location starts with understanding your business, your lifestyle, and the story you want to share. I’ll work with you to brainstorm ideas, scout spots if needed, and make sure the setting supports the images and message you want to convey.

Storytelling props can add real depth to your images and help your audience connect with your work. Items that reflect what you do or love (tools of your trade, meaningful objects, favourite books, products in action etc) give context and make your photos more personal and engaging. Think about things that tell a bit of your story or spark conversation. They make your brand feel alive in the images.

Most of us have at least one thing we’re self-conscious about, and stepping in front of a camera can feel vulnerable. My job is to make the experience feel safe, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable, and to create images where you recognise yourself in the best way.
Most of us are our own harshest critics. We zoom straight into that one wrinkle, roll, spot or hair that’s out of place, even though no one else would ever notice it.
Here’s my honest answer: I don’t retouch bodies or faces.
I lightly edit colour, tone, and light, and I may remove truly temporary distractions (like lint or a sudden breakout), but I’ll never change your actual features. I won’t make you thinner, remove wrinkles, or change your nose, because my work is rooted in authenticity, storytelling, and showing you as you really are. I truly believe that your audience and customers want to know you, not the perfect version, but the real one.
What I do focus on is making sure you look your best in camera. That means choosing flattering angles, nice light, thoughtful composition, and gently guiding you into positions that feel natural and highlight your personality. Helping you feel comfortable, confident, and present so that your personality shines. This approach — combined with a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere — does far more for your confidence and the final images than any retouching ever could.
If this brought up some feelings for you or you want to explore this more, I’ve written two posts that go deeper into this topic:

Yes! I love when people bring the important people (and furry friends) into their session. Whether it’s your team for a collaborative brand shoot, family members who are part of your story, or pets who make your life brighter, they’re more than welcome. Including them can add personality, emotion, and fun to your images, and helps tell your story authentically.
I completely understand, deciding what to wear is one of the most common questions I get!
The good news? There’s no single “right” answer. Think about what you normally wear to work or meet clients, what makes you feel confident, or what reflects your personality and brand. Solid colours or larger patterns usually work best on camera, and it’s helpful to keep your locations in mind when choosing your outfits.
Ultimately, the goal is for you to feel like you, so you can feel relaxed and confident, because that’s what really shines in your images.

I guide you gently, naturally, and in a way that feels like a conversation rather than a photoshoot. We might move around, chat about things you love, take a deep breath together, or I’ll use a soft prompt like “lean in a little” or “look toward the light.”
The focus isn’t on performing, it’s on helping you feel like yourself.
I also love capturing moments where you’re doing your thing — your craft, journaling, yoga, or whatever shows your personality and is a part of you and your brand, so posing isn’t even required.
If you’ve been hesitating because you feel awkward or “not photogenic,” don’t worry. You just need to show up, and I’ll take care of the rest. Check out my full article: 4 Easy Posing Tips for Branding Photos
