Booking a photographer or filmmaker can bring up questions. Here are a few I’m often asked.
What happens on the discovery call? Is it salesy or actually helpful?
Not salesy at all! The discovery call is your chance to tell me what you’re looking for, ask questions, and get a clear idea of how I work. I’ll explain the process, options, and pricing, and we’ll make sure we’re the right fit. I only want you to move forward if you feel confident, comfortable, and excited to work together. It’s a friendly chat where we get to know each other and explore how I can help tell your story, whether it’s family, branding, or charity work.
Will you guide me through the whole process?
Yes! From the first discovery call, through planning, the session itself, and delivery of your images or film, I’ll be there to answer questions, suggest ideas, and make sure everything feels smooth and enjoyable.
I’m nervous about being photographed. Is that okay?
Absolutely, it’s so normal to feel this way. Most people I work with are nervous at first, and that’s completely okay. You don’t need to show up confident or know what to do. My job is to help you feel relaxed, seen, and supported every step of the way.
Once we start chatting, laughing, and easing into the session, that nervous feeling usually fades much faster than you expect. You’ll never be asked to perform, pose awkwardly, or be anything other than yourself. I’m right there with you. And I promise: you’re far more photogenic, interesting, and wonderful than you think.
